Swedish urban planning
Jan Inge-Hagström Memorial Fund for Swedish Urban Architecture
Background
The Jan Inghe-Hagström Memorial Fund aims to support applied and theoretical education in the memory and spirit of Jan Inghe with the aim of developing Swedish urban planning. The announcement of two scholarships of SEK 150 is aimed primarily at younger working architects/planners who, through studies, travel or other means, want to improve their professional skills, or write about Jan Inghe's unique work or how it can inspire future urban development processes. The scholarship must then be presented in some form (lecture, newspaper article, essay).
Jan Inghe-Hagström was an architect and worked at the Stockholm City Planning Office throughout his professional career. Hammarby Sjöstad is his most important contribution to urban planning and has received international attention like no other Swedish urban planning project.
Purpose
The purpose of the scholarship is to highlight how planning addresses challenges of our time. For example, how a far-sighted and courageous way of working with climate challenges and unequal living conditions can highlight how a holistic view and spatial qualities, sensuality and beauty contribute to well-being.
Another aspect could be to describe design processes at different stages.
