Info

In the exhibition Exit to Entrance curated by Maaretta Jaukkuri, paintings from 2020 to 2025 are shown with a focus on my more recent works. The exhibition also includes Perfect sunset from the year 2007, which has a special place in my artistic work and which has not been shown before in Stockholm.

My artistry draws inspiration from art history, the contemporary art scene and everyday life. My paintings reference the many visual systems that exist in our society with different types of pattern-form fields that create space and movement. My artistic expression contains elements from many cultures processed from a personal point of view.

Color is at the center. Central is the interplay of color and form and the spiritual possibilities that painting offers. The forms should carry meaning that creates the narrative of the painting.

The painting process is about inducing light and determining the emotional temperature of the painting and the intellectual process that is guided by emotions. The goal is to choose direction and operate in the tangible present. About finding comfort and hope.

I have often worked in series in which I have approached the issue from different angles. I have wanted to portray good places for our different emotions to reside. I want to make visible what exists and give shape and color to what we do not see. I want to create visual stories of my own and others' experiences as I have understood them. Generate joy and energy.

A catalogue will be published in conjunction with the exhibition. Exit to Entrance with text by Sara Walker.

The exhibition has received support from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
