Artist talk
Thursday, March 5 at 18:00 PM in Gallery West.
Linda Hofvander in conversation with curator
Magnus of Petersens.

Linda Hofvander's artistic work is within photography as an expression. She has an approach that involves an equal focus on the work before the moment of photographing, the act of photographing itself and the physical image in space. She works with varying and simple materials that often carry a story. A recurring material is the textile, with the built-in possibility of a changing form and the everyday, which carries the imprint of the lived life. Hofvander's works are often spatial presentations and the works explore the inherent qualities of the image, such as the possibilities of time and space on a flat surface.

The exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts brings together three works that are all based on biographical material and a kind of collections. The Space of Things, 2021, began in the parts of a home that was demolished. The Shadow Imprints, 2025, begins in a deceased relative's clothing collection and the third part The lakes, 2025, is a collection of glasses.
