“The project began during the pandemic on my dilapidated farmhouse and in the surrounding forests. I prepared the land, cultivated, harvested, chopped wood, picked mushrooms and berries… The goal was to live as self-sufficient and climate-friendly as possible and see how this was reflected in my art. To develop an inner dialogue around personal responsibility in the ongoing climate disaster. Imagine if we took a break, stopped over-consuming and took the opportunity to recycle and develop our philosophically existential sides. In “The Promise”, and in several of my previous projects, I use my own body as a tool in my art.”
