The exhibition came about during a period of isolation and studio change that followed in the wake of the pandemic – it is very much centered around portraits of the people around me – but also people from other times who exist in my inner world of imagination.

A short wall is populated by 22 portraits that I call “The Fragile Ones.” They were created at the beginning of the pandemic, when strict isolation was imposed and I had to give up my old studio due to long trips on public transport – I became
"homeless" for a time and this determined both the technique and choice of motifs, materials and paint media for these works.

Furthermore, there is a suite of 7 paintings that is a summary story about Carl von Linné – or my associations that grew into images during the course of the work – other historical figures are James Ensor and HC Andersen.

A three-generation family of artists is also present.

On the other short wall is The Market – a meeting between Kabul and Wall Street, further on the Cathedral with features of the Cathedral in Milan and the Mona Lisa in a new role – as well as Sir James' telescope with some of its creators.

The things that surround us and that largely leave their mark on what we think and feel and how we choose to act – the everyday objects – are part of the exhibition – part of my reflections and thoughts during isolation – seeing the beauty in the small things – I call that part “The Mystery of Days”

The whole thing becomes a micro-story in the endless story of Man – himself a microscopic grain of sand in the cosmos.
