Info

"Spending time with ghosts" is a poem in the form of sculpture – dedicated to what is and was, and to those who are missing. The exhibition moves through history. Lingers at festoons, still lifes and ornaments. In hospitals and institutions. Enters cemeteries and palaces, farms, cottages and stables. To the metaphors and symbols that tell of man's attempts to find meaning in the inevitable.”

ABOUT THE BERNADOTTE PROGRAM

Since 2016, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, the Swedish Academy and the Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture operate a joint grant programme to promote inter-Academic work for the benefit of researchers and young artists.

The scholarship includes a grant from Axel Hirsch's donation fund, a one-year studio stay and an exhibition at the Art Academy.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts awards Ida-Johanna Lundqvist a scholarship within the Bernadotte Program 2021

for his artistic work within the project Allegory around the human body, rituals, language, the history of healthcare and burial rituals. The artist moves freely within different media and materials, such as sculpture, installation and sound. Her artistic field of activity includes words and text. With the seemingly simple, she hits the joy and pain points in existence, comforts and heals and creates context in the incomprehensibility we call life on earth.
