Matts Leiderstam's exhibition is on display at Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde The solar panel until mid-March. It is a spatial design, first presented at the Kin Museum of Contemporary Art in Kiruna, which takes its starting point from Prince Eugen's altarpiece for Kiruna Church. Matts Leiderstam, whose artistry includes painting, installation and text production, has long been interested in the history of landscape painting, the viewer's gaze and art historical structures. At the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts he will talk about his artistic research work in relation to Prince Eugen's landscape painting.

As a conversation partner, he meets the museum man, art historian and author Hans Henrik Brummer, who has recently published his extensive book in three volumes, Prince Eugen – a biography, at Carlssons förlag. It is the most comprehensive biography of Prince Eugen's life and work to date. Behind it lies a significant amount of research that encompasses Prince Eugen's fascinating personality and his various roles – the artist, the royalty, the socialite, the radical and the creator of Waldemarsudde. At the same time, it is a work of intellectual and cultural history that depicts an entire era.
