Through personal archive material, Elgeholm examines Swedish missionary history and puts it in dialogue with earlier travel accounts to Africa, such as Dr. Livingstone's voyages of discovery.

The exhibition weaves together several video works into a spatial video essay, where documentary is mixed with narrative. It becomes a story about a time and a place, but also about growing up as a child in the shadow of God's calling.

In 2020, Debora Elgeholm received the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts' exhibition grant from the Folke Hellström-Linds Fund. The grant includes an exhibition at the Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, funds to carry out the exhibition, and an exhibition catalogue.
