– two films that explore how laws and regulations shape our cities
10:45-11:30
Presentation by Arno Brandlhuber
– about his work at the intersection of architecture, research and activism
11:30-12:00
Conversation between Arno Brandlhuber and Catharina Gabrielsson, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts and professor of urban planning at KTH.
Arno Brandlhuber (born 1964) is one of Europe's most influential voices in contemporary architecture. Since the 1990s, he has developed a practice in which architecture is not just about buildings, but also about politics, laws and social structures. With projects such as Antivilla and Terrace house, as well as films and initiatives such as HouseEurope!, he raises questions about how we can build more sustainably – socially, ecologically and economically.
He has taught at several international institutions, including Harvard GSD and ETH Zurich, and currently leads the research and architecture group Brandlhuber+ in Berlin. He is also co-founder of the platforms bplus.xyz and HouseEurope.eu.

The Rolf Schock Prizes
The Rolf Schock Prize is something so unusual as a prize in logic and philosophy, mathematics, and visual arts as well as music. The laureates are selected in a unique collaboration between three Swedish academies: the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. The final decision is made by The Schock Foundation.
Contributions in science, art and music are rewarded with the Rolf Schock Prize. This year's laureates are:
The visual arts: Arno Brandlhuber, architect, urban researcher and activist.
Logic and Philosophy: Bastiaan C. van Fraassen.
Mathematics: Tobias Holck Colding
Music: Maria Schneider, composer and conductor.
The prize, with a prize amount of SEK 600,000 per prize area, will be awarded on June 8 at the Academy of Fine Arts.
