The heartbeat of nature – its silent whispers, endless mysteries and fragile poetry – guides me through landscapes of life and decay. I explore the unseen, the overlooked: the finely tuned fabric of ecosystems and microscopic life forms that carry stories of survival and transformation.

 

In these layered narratives, the silent screams of species extinction and the muted shadows of climate change lie intertwined like an undercurrent in the story. The works become a reminder of the fragile balance between creation and destruction, the cyclical movement of life, and our time's constant struggle to preserve that which still breathes.

 

The paintings combine subtle elements of sheet metal and oil, where the meeting of the materials creates depth and shifts in light and texture.

Anne Maria Udsen

Anne Maria Udsen celebrates 30 years as an artist this year. She debuted at Den Frie in Copenhagen in 1995 and at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 2001. Since then, her work has been shown in both Nordic and international contexts.
